Yukiide Kaoru (雪井出 薫 Yukiide Kaoru; "Kaoru Yukiide") is in charge of the Labyrinth Game at the Metropolitan Police Department, a duty that previously belonged to his father. At age 12 he was diagnosed at twelve with encephalitis lethargica or "Sleepy Sickness". His condition worsened at age 15 and because of that, he lost 10 years of his life in a coma. He awoke 2 years before the game with Kaji Takaomi, completely changed and enslaved by his father's ideals of order.
Appearance[]
Yukiide has light colored hair and wears a green jinbei. When he wakes up, he has slight facial hair.

Personality[]
Yukiide believes that order is the most important aspect of a society. He is willing to allow injustices if they help keep society in order. These values were instilled in him as a child. Deep down though, he is a very caring individual with a desire to help others.

Labyrinth of the Minotaur Arc[]
0 Yen Gamble Arc[]
As Yukiide explains it, the purpose of this game is to fill in the gaps of his memory. It is not only that, however, as the loser is pinned with a serious crime upon losing, with no evidence to the contrary. Yukiide first beats Kaji Takomi, as Kaji is unable to realize his cheating method. Yukiide is then visited by Madarame Baku. Madarame Baku purposely loses a round in order to give Yukiide the alibi of playing Surpassing the leader. Baku eventually beats Yukiide, and the shock causes Yukiide to go back into his coma.
Labyrinth Maze Arc[]
Yukiide is unable to participate in the Labyrinth Maze game due to his unconscious state.
Battleship Arc[]

Yukiide makes a slight cameo in Chapter 317. The caged mechanical bird and Marco's drawing are both in his room.
Post-Canon[]
Yukiide wakes up sometime during spring, as evidenced by the cherry blossoms.

Relationships[]
- Amako Seiichi: Yukiide trusts Amako and believes he cares about him. He is unaware that Amako is using him.
- Yukiide Senior: Yukiide's dad regrets what he did to his son.
- Madarame Baku: Baku refers to Yukiide as "Yukkii." After the Labyrinth game, It is implied that Baku visits Yukiide frequently in the hospital.
- Marco: Though they have not meet each other, at least while Yukiide is conscious, Marco feels a sense of kindred spirits from Yukiide. A picture of him, Baku and Yukiide, that Marco drew himself, was put in Yukiide's hospital room.

- He appears in the pachinko game, with blue hair.
- If the birth-date he gives is not a lie, then he shares a birthday with Kaji.
- His IQ is reported to be over 190.
- He shares a given name with Bandai Kaori.
- In kanji, they are both written as: "薫."
- There are several hints that Chapter 147, when Yukiide wakes up, takes place after the second Surpassing the Leader.
- During Chapter 317, as well as the duration of the Ban match, it is December. The second Surpassing the Leader match happens right after the Ban. Yukiide wakes up during the spring.
- Yukiide looks significantly older than he did in Chapter 317.
- Baku's hand is covered up, hiding the evidence of the Hand Chopper game.
